Installing and configuring the agent
With the HCL Workload Automation limited fault-tolerant agent for IBM i (hereafter referred to as the IBM i agent), you can schedule, launch, and control jobs on an IBM i agent using the job scheduling tools of HCL Workload Automation.
The IBM i agent
offers the following features:
- Allows the use of standard HCL Workload Automation job dependencies on IBM i jobs.
- Capability to schedule jobs on specific days and at specific times of day.
- Capability to prioritize jobs to have them executed in a prescribed order.
- Possibility to define interdependencies between IBM i jobs and jobs running on other systems, including UNIX, Windows NT, and SAP R/3.
HCL Workload Automation and the IBM i agent support Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), in addition to Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4). To help you in the transition from an IPv4 environment to a complete IPv6 environment, HCL Workload Automation provides IP dual-stack support. This means that the product is designed to communicate using both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols simultaneously with other applications using IPv4 or IPv6.
