Checking version information
Work with previous versions of your scheduling and security objects.
About this task
HCL Workload Automation maintains all previous versions, both for scheduling and security objects. From the Dynamic Workload Console you can view and edit object definitions and check the related version information.
Depending on your object type, select the Versions tab or the Show versions button. For each object, you can view the history of changes, discover which user performed a specific change, the time stamp, and the reason for the change. You can also display previous versions in scheduling language.
For the object in the database, you can compare different versions in a comparison viewer.
Perform the following steps:
- Open the object in edit mode and, depending on your object type, select the Versions tab or the Show versions button.
- Select the two versions that you want to compare.
- Click on Compare.
- A comparison viewer opens that highlights the differences between the two versions.
For the object in the Workload Designer, you can also restore a previous version. Perform the
following steps:
- From the Workload Designer, open the object in edit mode and select the Versions tab.
- Select the version that you want to revert to.
- Click on Restore... to start the restore process.
- The selected version is opened in edit mode. Review the object definition and save it.
