Quick steps to define an HCL Workload Automation engine connection
Steps to create an engine connection to one of your supported HCL Workload Automation engines.
After logging in to the Dynamic Workload Console using the administrator user ID or another user ID with assigned TWSWEBUIAdministrator or TWSWEBUIConfigurator roles, use the following steps to create an engine connection to one of your supported HCL Workload Automation engines.
- From the navigation toolbar, click System Configuration > Manage Engines.
- From the displayed panel you can create, edit, delete, or share an engine connection, and test the connection to the remote server where HCL Workload Automation is installed. You can order the list of engine connections displayed in this panel by using sorting criteria that you select with the buttons at the upper left corner of the table.
- Click New Engine.
- In the Engine Connection Properties window, assign a name to the engine connection and specify the required information. For more details about fields and options, see the online help by clicking the "?" in the top right corner. If you want to test the connection to the HCL Workload Automation database (mandatory for managing reporting and event management functions), you must select Enable reporting and specify the user credentials.
- Click Test Connection to check that the configuration was successful and that the Dynamic Workload Console is communicating with the selected engine. If the test connection fails, see Troubleshooting Guide.
